Be Strong in the Lord

Be Strong in the Lord

Scripture:
Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” — Ephesians 6:10

Reflection:
In spiritual warfare, many try to fight using sheer willpower or natural resilience. But the truth is, our strength is limited, and human effort alone is not enough to overcome the spiritual forces we face. The Apostle Paul doesn’t say “be strong in yourself”—he says “be strong in the Lord.” That’s a vital distinction.

To be strong in the Lord is to acknowledge our weakness and lean wholly on God's strength. It means anchoring our confidence not in our knowledge, talents, or experiences, but in the limitless might of God. This is the strength that sustained David before Goliath, empowered Paul through persecution, and raised Jesus from the dead.

When the enemy whispers lies, tempts with fear, or attacks with discouragement, our defense isn’t in pretending to be strong—it’s in abiding in Christ. His power flows through us when we rest in Him. It’s not about trying harder but trusting deeper.

How to Be Strong in the Lord:

  • Begin each day with prayer, inviting God to lead and empower you.
  • Meditate on scriptures that affirm His strength in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9–10).
  • Stay connected to the Body of Christ for encouragement and accountability.
  • Worship regularly to keep your focus on His greatness.

Scripture for Further Reflection:

  • Isaiah 40:29–31
  • Psalm 18:1–2
  • 2 Corinthians 12:9–10

Prayer:

Father, I confess that my strength is not enough. I lay down my self-reliance and receive the power of Your might. Strengthen my heart, renew my mind, and fill me with divine courage for the battles I face. Let Your strength be seen in me today, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
