The Fire of Holiness

Day 20: The Fire of Holiness

Theme Scripture

“But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’”
1 Peter 1:15–16 (NKJV)

Exposition

True revival is not merely a display of power—it is a revelation of God’s holiness. When revival breaks out, sin is exposed, hearts are purified, and people return to God with brokenness and repentance. Holiness is not an outdated demand; it is the very nature of God reproduced in His people through the Spirit.

The fire of holiness purifies. It burns away the dross of sin, self, and pride, making us fit vessels for God’s glory. When Isaiah encountered God’s presence, his immediate response was conviction: “Woe is me! for I am undone” (Isaiah 6:5). But when the fire from the altar touched his lips, he was cleansed and commissioned.

Many desire the fire of revival, but not the fire of holiness. Yet the two cannot be separated. The Holy Spirit is called holy because He produces holiness in those He fills. When He comes in revival, He cleanses, convicts, and consecrates.

If you truly long for revival, surrender to the purifying fire of the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to burn away every impurity that hinders your walk with God. Holiness is not legalism—it is freedom from sin’s grip and intimacy with God’s heart.
