When the Church Becomes Comfortable for Sinners but Uncomfortable for Saints

🌿 Midnight Call: When the Church Becomes Comfortable for Sinners but Uncomfortable for Saints

📖 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.”2 Timothy 4:3

Devotional Message

There is a growing cry in the spirit: Why does the organized Church now feel more comfortable for sinners than for saints?
Once upon a time, the sanctuary was a place where sin was exposed, hearts were convicted, and altars were wet with tears of repentance. Now, in many places, the same sanctuary entertains rather than transforms.

The gospel of the Cross has gradually been replaced by a gospel of convenience — one that emphasizes acceptance without repentance and grace without growth.
Sermons once spoken in fire are now delivered with filters, and truth that once pierced hearts has been softened to please crowds. As a result, sinners feel at home while saints feel homeless in the very house of God.

But this was never the design of Christ’s Church. Jesus welcomed sinners, yes — but never to make them comfortable in their sin. He came to save, cleanse, and transform them by truth.
📖 “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”John 8:11

Today, saints who long for holiness and depth find themselves restless. They hunger for revival, not rituals. They seek the fire of the Spirit, not the fog of entertainment. Their discomfort is not a curse — it’s a sign of divine sensitivity. When the Spirit is grieved, the spiritual will always feel it first.

There is a silent exodus of the consecrated, not out of rebellion, but out of burden. Many are retreating to prayer rooms, mountain altars, and quiet places of seeking — crying for God to restore His glory in the Church.
The Lord is raising a remnant who will not trade truth for applause, who will cry aloud and spare not, and who will rebuild the altar that has been broken down.

📖 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.”Isaiah 5:20

Reflection

If the Church no longer convicts, she can no longer convert.
If the altar no longer burns, the saints will grow cold.
God is calling His people — not to abandon His Church, but to awaken her.

Saints must rise again as watchmen — not comfortable spectators, but burning intercessors.
📖 “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet.”Isaiah 58:1

Prayer

🔥 Lord, restore Your fire in Your Church again.
🔥 Let truth thunder once more from the pulpit.
🔥 Revive the hearts of Your saints who have grown weary in waiting.
🔥 Let holiness, conviction, and grace dwell again in Your house.

Prophetic Declaration

I declare: the fire of the early Church shall burn again!
The days of lukewarm worship are ending.
Saints shall rise in holy boldness, and the Spirit of truth shall return to His rightful place at the altar.
The Church will no longer be a comfort zone for sin, but a birthing room for revival.

Why the Organised Church seems more comfortable for sinners than Saints

1. The Church’s Shift from Conviction to Comfort

Many churches today have subtly shifted their focus from conviction to comfort. The message that once pierced hearts and led to repentance is often replaced by one that soothes and entertains.

  • The goal has become attendance rather than transformation.
  • Sermons are tailored to keep people rather than change people.

Thus, sinners feel comfortable, while saints who hunger for depth, holiness, and truth feel starved.

📖 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.”2 Timothy 4:3

2. The Discomfort of the Holy

Those who walk closely with God carry a different appetite — they long for righteousness, holiness, and truth.
When the Church becomes worldly, the saintly become restless.
When the altar no longer burns with purity, those who live by the flame find no warmth there.

  • Saints are called to grow, but many pulpits now aim to please.
  • When the Spirit is grieved, the spiritually sensitive feel it first.

📖 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.”Isaiah 5:20

3. The False Gospel of Tolerance

Modern culture preaches a gospel of acceptance without repentance. Sadly, this has crept into the Church.
Instead of calling people out of sin, the Church now often redefines sin to avoid offense.
But Jesus never comforted sinners in their sin — He forgave them and said, “Go and sin no more.”

A Church that refuses to speak truth becomes a refuge for rebellion rather than a hospital for healing.

📖 “Do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”Galatians 1:10

4. The Spirit of Babylon in the Sanctuary

There’s a spirit of compromise that has invaded the sanctuary — the same spirit that deceived Israel into mixing holy worship with pagan practices.

  • Entertainment replaces intercession.
  • Programs replace presence.
  • Popularity replaces purity.

This makes the Church comfortable for the carnal, but unbearable for the consecrated.

📖 “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins.”Revelation 18:4

5. The Call to the True Remnant

God always preserves a remnant — those who refuse to bow to Baal, who will not trade truth for applause.
These saints may feel out of place in the organized Church, but they are not out of place in the Kingdom.
Their discomfort is a divine signal — a call to rekindle the flame and restore the altar.

📖 “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression.”Isaiah 58:1

In Summary

The organized Church feels more comfortable for sinners than saints because:

  1. The message has shifted from conviction to convenience.
  2. The atmosphere no longer honors the presence of the Holy Spirit.
  3. The culture of compromise has replaced the call to consecration.
  4. Saints are being stirred to reform, not conform.

A Final Word

The saints’ discomfort is holy — it’s a sign of revival waiting to break forth.
God is not done with His Church. He is calling His remnant to rise, rebuild, and restore His house until it becomes once again a place where sin is confronted, grace is celebrated, and holiness is loved.

📖 “Judgment must begin at the house of God.”1 Peter 4:17
