God Still Speaks

Sincere Milk Devotional — July 2

Theme : God Still Speaks

Scripture: Isaiah 30:21

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'" (NIV)

Reflection

One of the greatest fears in the Christian journey is the fear of missing God's voice. We wonder if He is still speaking or if we have become too distracted to hear Him.

The encouraging truth is that God has not stopped speaking. Throughout Scripture, He revealed Himself in many ways—through His Word, the prompting of the Holy Spirit, wise counsel, circumstances, and even in moments of quietness. The challenge is often not that God is silent, but that our lives have become too noisy.

God's guidance is rarely given to satisfy our curiosity about the distant future. More often, He gives enough light for the next faithful step. Like a shepherd leading his sheep, He calls us to trust His voice one step at a time.

If you are seeking direction today, don't allow anxiety to drown out faith. Return to His Word. Spend time in prayer. Cultivate stillness before Him. As your relationship with the Shepherd deepens, His voice becomes increasingly familiar.

God is not trying to confuse you. He delights in leading those who humbly seek Him.

Action to take

● Begin your day by reading a portion of Scripture before checking your phone.

● Set aside a few minutes of silence to listen in prayer.

● Ask God for wisdom concerning the next step rather than the entire journey.

● Obey what He has already made clear.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You because You are a God who speaks. Quiet every competing voice within and around me. Help me to recognize Your leading through Your Word and by Your Spirit. Grant me the courage to obey what You reveal, trusting that You will guide me one step at a time. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thought for the Day:

God's voice is clearest to the heart that is surrendered.
