Put On the Armour
Scripture:
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” — Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV)
Reflection:
We are not called to face life’s spiritual battles defenseless. God, in His wisdom and grace, has equipped us with armor—not forged in human strength, but divine in origin. Each piece of the armor of God serves a vital purpose: As we already examined the Armour as necessary tools as God’s Army fighting according to divine strategy— we put on:
- The Belt of Truth grounds us in what is real when deception abounds.
- The Breastplate of Righteousness guards our hearts against guilt and shame.
- The Shoes of Peace keep us steady and ready to advance with the message of Christ.
- The Shield of Faith extinguishes the fiery lies of the enemy.
- The Helmet of Salvation protects our minds, anchoring us in God’s promises.
- The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, is our only offensive weapon—sharper than any two-edged sword.
This is not optional gear for selected seasons—it is essential, daily equipment. Just as a soldier never enters a battlefield without armour, we should not enter each day without spiritual preparation.
Don’t leave your armour hanging in the closet of your soul. Wear it intentionally. Walk in truth. Stand in righteousness. Live in peace. Lift up your faith. Protect your thoughts. Wield the Word. When fully armoured, you won’t merely survive the battle—you will stand.
Prayer:
Lord, I choose today to put on the whole armor You have provided. Fasten truth around my life. Cover me with Your righteousness. Guide my feet with peace. Strengthen my faith to resist every attack. Guard my mind with the assurance of salvation. Fill my mouth and heart with Your living Word. Help me stand firm, fully equipped in You.
Amen.
