What Is Salvation

Title: What Is Salvation?

Scripture Focus:
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23 (NKJV)

Devotional:

Salvation is not just a religious word—it’s the heart of the Gospel. To be saved means to be rescued from the power and penalty of sin, and to be brought into a new life with God through Jesus Christ.

We were all separated from God by sin, but in His love, God sent His Son to die for us. Through Jesus, we are forgiven, made new, and given eternal life. That’s salvation.

It isn’t earned by good works or religious efforts. It is a gift—freely given, but personally received by faith. Salvation changes your status from guilty to forgiven, from lost to found, from condemned to free.

And salvation doesn’t stop at the moment you believe. It is a daily journey:

  • You are justified the moment you trust in Christ.
  • You are sanctified daily as God shapes you by His Spirit.
  • You will be glorified when Jesus returns and you are made perfect in His presence.

This is the greatest miracle of all: that God saves sinners, restores hope, and gives life that never ends.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Have I personally received the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus?
  2. Am I walking daily in the freedom and purpose that salvation brings?
  3. How can I share this gift with someone else today?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for saving me. Thank You for dying in my place and offering me eternal life. Help me to live each day in the joy and freedom of my salvation. I choose to follow You and trust in Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
