🌙 Midnight Call Reflection – September 12, 2025
Tonight, the world lies heavy with grief and questions. News broke of the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk, a young man of only 31, who rose to prominence as a bold, sometimes controversial voice in America’s public square. Just two days after his death, the suspect has been captured. But the pain, the shock, the unanswered “why” remains.
Across the globe, we are reminded again of the fragility of life. The 24th anniversary of 9/11 this week already stirred our memories of sudden tragedy, when ordinary days turned into history-defining sorrow. Now, another young life cut short brings the question closer home: what is your life?
James 4:14 tells us:
“You do not know what tomorrow will bring. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”
Charlie’s death is not just an American story—it is a human story. It is a reminder to each of us that tomorrow is not promised. Whether in bustling Lagos, quiet villages in Malawi, the crowded streets of Gaza, or the noisy stadiums of Europe, the truth is the same: life is fleeting.
But here lies the call of the midnight hour: not despair, but readiness. Readiness for the unexpected. Readiness for eternity. Readiness for Christ.
The Psalmist prayed, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). Wisdom is not measured in years lived but in days invested for eternity.
Beloved, as the shadows lengthen tonight, let us ask ourselves:
- Am I living with eternal priorities?
- Have I made peace with God through Christ?
- Am I using today as if it were my last, sowing seeds of faith, love, and truth?
Charlie Kirk’s life, whether you admired or disagreed with his message, now stands as a mirror to us all: death does not wait for age or fame or preparation.
Tonight, as you bow your head before sleep, whisper this prayer:
“Lord, help me to live ready. Let my life count for You. Teach me to number my days, and let me not waste the gift of today.”
🌌 The midnight call is clear: Life is fragile. Eternity is sure. Christ is the only anchor.
