Midnight Call: Anchored Beyond the Headlines
🌙 Midnight Call: Anchored Beyond the Headlines
Scripture Reading:
"The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress." — Psalm 46:6–7
🕊️ Reflection
Today the world watched as China staged its largest-ever military parade, joined by leaders from Russia and North Korea. It was a vivid show of earthly power—tanks rolling, missiles displayed, and alliances strengthened against the West. In Paris, new security guarantees for Ukraine were being shaped, while in the U.S., investors reassessed the impact of tariffs on global markets. Across the globe, oil prices, job cuts, and inequality dominated economic headlines.
But behind these headlines lies a deeper truth: the kingdoms of this world are fragile and temporary. Empires may flex their might, alliances may shift, and economies may rise or fall—but only the Kingdom of God is eternal.
As believers, we are called not to fear when nations rage or when economies shake. Jesus reminds us that wars, rumors of wars, and upheavals are but the “birth pains” before His ultimate reign (Matthew 24:6–8). Our security is not in governments, armies, or markets, but in the God who rules over all.
So at this midnight hour, while the world measures strength by missiles, money, and political maneuvers, we measure strength by faith in Christ—our unshakable Rock.
🙏 Midnight Prayer
Sovereign Lord,
While nations display their might and economies tremble, I choose to rest in Your unfailing power. Be my fortress in uncertain times, and remind me that no ruler or empire can overthrow Your Kingdom. Grant peace to troubled nations, wisdom to leaders, and strength to Your people to stand as lights in this dark world.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
