When Love Sings His Praise – Episode 9: The Proposal πŸŽΆπŸ’

When Love Sings His Praise –

 Episode 9: The Proposal πŸŽΆπŸ’

The Calm After the Storm

After Cynthia’s confession, a new peace settled over the campus chapel. Though tongues still wagged, the truth had silenced the loudest accusers. Daniel and Deborah walked carefully, rebuilding trust, one day at a time.

Deborah’s heart was healing, but she also carried scars. She whispered during one evening prayer,
“Lord, if this is truly Your will, then let his love be tested not just by trials, but by commitment.”

God heard her prayer—and the answer was on the way.

Daniel’s Resolve

Weeks passed, and Daniel could no longer deny what was in his heart. The scandal had only deepened his conviction. One night, after choir rehearsal, he sat with Mama Ruth.

“Mama,” he said softly, “I want to marry Deborah. I know I’m not from her world, but I believe God joined us for a reason.”

Mama smiled, her eyes glistening with tears.
“My son, a man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord (Proverbs 18:22). Go with courage. Don’t let fear speak louder than faith.”

Daniel prayed all night, asking God for the right moment.

The Setup

On a bright Saturday morning, the choir gathered for a special thanksgiving outreach at the university chapel. After the service, music filled the hall—songs of gratitude and praise. Deborah’s voice soared in worship, sweet and steady, though she didn’t know God was about to surprise her.

As the last song ended, Daniel stepped forward nervously, holding a small guitar. He strummed a few chords and began to sing—a song he had secretly written.

🎢 “Through the fire, through the rain,
Your love remains the same.
Though the world may cast its doubt,
With God, we’ll work it out.”
🎢

The congregation listened in awe. Deborah covered her mouth, her eyes wide with tears.

The Proposal

Then, Daniel stopped singing, placed the guitar aside, and knelt on one knee before the whole chapel. Gasps filled the hall.

“Deborah,” his voice trembled but grew stronger, “we have been through storms, trials, and even shame. But through it all, I know one thing: you are God’s gift to me. Will you walk with me—not just in choir, not just in campus life, but in covenant, as my wife?”

The chapel went silent. Deborah froze, her hands shaking.

Her father’s mocking voice echoed in her mind: “That village boy is a fraud.”
The scandal replayed in her memory.
But louder than all that, another voice whispered in her heart:
“What God has joined together, let no man put asunder” (Matthew 19:6).

Tears streamed down her face. She stepped forward, took Daniel’s hand, and whispered into the microphone,
“Yes… by God’s grace, yes.”

The choir erupted in songs of praise. Some shouted, some clapped, some wept. Mama Ruth lifted her hands to heaven, whispering,
“Thank You, Lord, for proving Yourself faithful.”

The Aftermath

The proposal shook the campus. Some rejoiced, others sneered. But Daniel and Deborah no longer cared about whispers. They had chosen faith over fear.

That evening, Deborah wrote in her journal:
“True love isn’t just found in sweet words—it’s proven in trials. Today, I said yes, not only to Daniel, but to the God who writes our story.”

But unknown to them, new storms waited beyond campus walls. For if love is of God, it must be tested again—and again.

Episode 9 closes with the sound of praise lingering in the chapel, a love song turned into a covenant promise. But in the distance, shadows stir…
