Day 5: Revival Through Prayer

Day 5: Revival Through Prayer

Theme Scripture

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
— 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

Exposition

Prayer is the engine of revival. Every great awakening in history—whether in Acts 2, the Welsh Revival, or Azusa Street—was birthed and sustained through fervent prayer. Prayer is how we partner with God to bring heaven’s agenda into the earth.

Revival never comes by accident. It comes when God’s people travail in prayer until the heavens open. As Leonard Ravenhill said, “The church is dying on its feet because it is not living on its knees.” A praying church is a revived church.

Notice the condition in 2 Chronicles 7:14: humility, prayer, seeking God’s face, and repentance. This is not casual prayer, but desperate, prevailing intercession. When God’s people pray like this, heaven responds with forgiveness, restoration, and healing.

Prayer revives the heart, ignites fire on the altar, breaks spiritual strongholds, and ushers in a fresh move of God. If we long for revival now, we must return to the place of prayer—both personal and corporate. Revival starts on your knees.
