Joy of Salvation Restored
Day 17: Joy of Salvation Restored
Theme Scripture
“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”
— Psalm 51:12 (KJV)
Exposition
One of the greatest evidences of revival is the restoration of joy — not joy based on circumstances, but the deep, inner gladness that springs from knowing you are right with God.
When David prayed this prayer after his sin with Bathsheba, he wasn’t asking for new salvation but for the joy that he had lost through sin. Many believers today still love God, but the joy of their salvation has faded. Busyness, trials, or guilt can drain the vibrancy of your walk with God. Revival comes to bring it back.
The joy of salvation is the believer’s strength (Nehemiah 8:10). It is what sustains prayer, fuels worship, and keeps your heart burning with love for God. When revival breaks out in a person’s heart, the weight of condemnation is lifted, the freshness of grace returns, and praise flows naturally again.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of joy. When He moves, sorrow, weariness, and heaviness give way to freedom and rejoicing. A revived believer does not need external motivation to praise; the inner life of Christ continually overflows.
If your Christian journey feels heavy or dry, ask the Lord today to restore the joy of your salvation. Revival is not complete until joy is renewed.
