Episode 15 – The Door Too Wide
Word spread faster than David imagined. What began as small testimonies in youth fellowships soon drew the attention of leaders he had never met.
One evening, Pastor Emmanuel, a respected minister in the city, visited Mama’s house. His voice carried authority, but his eyes were warm.
“David,” he said, “the Lord is stirring something through your testimony. Next month, we’re hosting a regional youth revival—over a thousand expected. I want you to share your story.”
David froze. A thousand? His knees weakened just picturing the crowd. He stammered:
“Sir… I’m not a preacher. I barely survived my own storms. How can I stand before so many?”
Pastor Emmanuel smiled. “Moses also said, ‘I cannot speak.’ Jeremiah said, ‘I am but a youth.’ But the calling is not about your strength. It is about His fire.”
That night, David lay awake, heart pounding. Thoughts raced: What if I fail? What if I forget my words? What if they laugh louder than before? Fear whispered louder than faith.
But then he remembered Mama’s frail hands lifted after her healing. He remembered the youth girl who wept at his testimony. And above all, he remembered the whisper:
“Will you guide them, as I guided you?”
When morning came, David knelt by his bedside. His voice trembled, but his prayer was clear:
“Lord, if this is Your door, I will step through it. Carry me. Speak through me. Let my weakness be Your stage.”
The decision was made. The fire inside had outgrown his fears.
As the day of the revival approached, David felt the weight of destiny pressing close. But for the first time, he did not see it as a burden—he saw it as an honor.
The boy who once ran to prophets in desperation was now running with the message of Christ. The waiting hall he had seen in his dream was opening wider, and God was calling him to lead others through.
