Episode 20 – Ripples and Shadows
The village meeting that night was only the beginning. Word spread quickly from hut to hut, then from village to neighboring towns:
“There is a young man who speaks with fire. When he prays, chains break.”
Soon, David found himself moving from one small gathering to another. The crowds were not thousands, but their hunger made each meeting feel like heaven itself. Addicts surrendered bottles at the altar. Quarreling families reconciled. Some even burned charms and idols, choosing Christ instead.
David marveled. This is revival, he thought. Not the stage, not the lights—this.
But light always attracts resistance. One evening, as David prepared to preach in an open field, a group of men arrived, led by a local diviner known for exploiting the villagers’ fears. His eyes burned with anger.
“Who gave you the right to destroy my work?” the man hissed.
“These people are mine. Their fears feed me. Their ignorance sustains me. Leave, or you will regret it.”
The crowd murmured, fear rippling through them. David felt his knees weaken. For a moment, old doubts screamed—you are just a boy, what can you do against such powers?
But then the Spirit whispered within him:
“The battle is not yours, but Mine.”
David raised his voice, trembling yet bold:
“These people belong to Jesus Christ. Every chain you have used to bind them is broken by His blood.”
The diviner laughed, mocking. But suddenly, he staggered backward as if struck by an invisible force. His charms fell from his neck into the dust. The villagers gasped. Some fell on their knees, crying, “The Lord, He is God!”
That night, more souls surrendered to Christ than David had ever seen.
Yet, as he lay in his small room afterward, David felt the weight of a new reality: the revival was real, but so was the opposition. If the enemy could not stop him with poverty or temptation, he would now come with open confrontation.
David whispered into the dark, “Lord, keep me small before You, and strong against the shadows.”
The fire was spreading. The ripples had begun. But so had the war.

📖 Scripture Echo:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” —Ephesians 6:12
