New Wine
Day 24: New Wine
Scripture
“Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
— Matthew 9:17 (NKJV)
Reflection
Every true revival brings something fresh from God — a new outpouring of His Spirit, new anointing, new revelations, and new moves of grace. But new wine cannot be contained in old wineskins. The old wineskin represents outdated mindsets, unrepentant hearts, religious rigidity, and spiritual complacency.
Before God pours out His new wine, He first prepares His vessels. The old must give way to the new — old pride, old fears, old routines, and even old successes that hinder fresh dependence on God. Revival requires spiritual flexibility and heart renewal.
When the Holy Spirit moves, He often breaks familiar patterns to reveal deeper truths. Those who resist change risk missing the outpouring. The Spirit’s new wine is not to entertain but to empower — to transform lives, churches, and nations.
The question today is: Am I a vessel ready for new wine? The Spirit of God is searching for hearts that are soft, humble, and surrendered. Revival does not come to the proud but to the pliable — those willing to be stretched for God’s purpose.
