Overcoming Lukewarmness

Day 21: Overcoming Lukewarmness

Scripture

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
Revelation 3:16 (NKJV)

Reflection

Lukewarmness is one of the greatest enemies of revival. It represents spiritual complacency — when believers lose passion, zeal, and fire for the things of God. The Laodicean church had wealth, reputation, and comfort, but lacked burning love for Christ.

Revival comes when believers reject mediocrity and return to fervent devotion. Jesus longs for hearts that are fully His — not half-committed or spiritually cold. The Spirit cannot dwell where apathy reigns.

Lukewarmness creeps in subtly: when prayer becomes routine, worship mechanical, and holiness optional. But the Holy Spirit is calling His Church to awaken, to stir up the flame, and to remember our first love.

When revival fire burns, the lukewarm become passionate again, worshippers become warriors, and comfort zones give way to holy pursuit. It’s time to shake off spiritual sleep and cry:
“Lord, set me ablaze again!”
