When Heaven Seems Quiet
Midnight Reflections — July 2
When Heaven Seems Quiet
There are seasons when prayers appear unanswered and heaven seems unusually quiet. During such times, it is tempting to conclude that God has withdrawn.
Yet silence does not equal absence.
A teacher may be silent during an examination, but that does not mean the teacher has abandoned the classroom. Likewise, there are moments when God invites us to trust what He has already spoken rather than demand something new.
Faith matures when it learns to stand on yesterday's promises while waiting for tomorrow's clarity.
Perhaps tonight, instead of asking, "Why isn't God speaking?" ask, "Have I been faithful to what He has already said?"
Sometimes the next word from God comes after we have obeyed the last one.
As you lay down to rest, remember that even when you cannot trace God's hand, you can trust His heart. The Shepherd never loses sight of His sheep.
Closing Prayer
Lord, when I struggle to hear Your voice, strengthen my faith. Teach me to trust Your presence even in silence, to obey Your Word faithfully, and to rest in the assurance that You are leading me according to Your perfect will. Amen.
Closing Thought: The silence of God is never the absence of God. Sometimes it is the place where trust grows deepest.
