 I Will Carry You

Devotional Reflection

One of the most beautiful truths in Isaiah 46 is that God is not a burden we must carry; He is the God who carries us.

Human beings often imagine that faith means being strong enough to carry everything ourselves. We try to carry our responsibilities, our families, our dreams, our disappointments, and our uncertainties. Sometimes we even feel guilty when we become tired.

But God speaks differently.

He reminds His people that from their beginning until their old age, He has carried them and will continue to carry them.

What a comforting promise!

God does not say that His people will never face difficulties. He does not promise that every season will be easy. Instead, He promises something deeper: His presence and sustaining power will remain with them throughout the journey.

There is a difference between having responsibilities and carrying burdens that God never asked us to carry alone.

You may have responsibilities today. You may have work to do, decisions to make, people to care for, and challenges to face. But you were never designed to live as though everything depends entirely on you.

Sometimes the greatest expression of faith is saying:

“Lord, I cannot carry this by myself. I place it in Your hands.”

Isaiah contrasts the living God with idols that have to be carried by people. False gods cannot save themselves, let alone save those who worship them. But the true God carries His people.

That changes the way we approach life.

When your strength is insufficient, God remains sufficient.
When your understanding is limited, God remains wise.
When your resources are exhausted, God remains faithful.
When you cannot see the road ahead, God already sees the end from the beginning.

Perhaps today you are carrying something silently that has become too heavy.

Give it to God.

You do not have to pretend that you are strong when you are tired. You do not have to have everything figured out before you come to Him.

The God who carried you yesterday is still carrying you today.

And the God who carries you today will not abandon you tomorrow.

🙏 Prayer

Father, thank You because You are the God who carries Your children.

I confess that sometimes I try to carry everything by myself. I worry about things I cannot control and become anxious about things that belong in Your hands.

Teach me to trust You more deeply.

Carry me when I am weak. Sustain me when I am tired. Give me wisdom when I do not know what to do, and give me courage when the road ahead looks difficult.

Help me to fulfil my responsibilities faithfully without carrying burdens that You have asked me to surrender.

Thank You because my future is not dependent upon my strength alone. You are with me, You sustain me, and You will never abandon me.

🌾 Last Thought for the Day

You may feel tired from carrying life's burdens, but remember: you are not carrying your life alone. The everlasting God is carrying you.

🌙 Midnight Reflection

Tonight, identify one burden you have been carrying unnecessarily.

Do not take it into tomorrow.

Place it before God and say:

“Lord, this is too heavy for me, but it is not too heavy for You.”

Then rest.

🌙 Midnight Prayer

Lord, I lay down every burden that has troubled my heart today.

I surrender my worries, responsibilities, unanswered questions, and fears to You.

While I sleep, remind my heart that You are watching over me. Carry what I cannot carry. Heal what I cannot repair. Provide what I cannot provide. And guide what I cannot understand.

Let Your peace guard my heart and mind tonight.

I trust You with today.
I trust You with tomorrow.
I trust You with my future.

You are my God, and You will carry me.
